NYC's cult horror raconteur, Dandy Darkly, makes his 59E59 debut with a preview of his latest hysteric, late-night frolic headed to the Edinburgh Fringe! Join Dandy on the infamous Gaybird Steamer for the queerest ride of your life. African myth, American industry and Deep South identity are skewered and celebrated alongside a Dixieland funeral parade of richly imagined characters from the proudly peculiar mind of this fiercely fringe performer.
Dandy Darkly follows a beautiful tradition of Southern American storytellers, Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote to name but a few, and regales his surprisingly poignant tales alongside a bespoke soundtrack peppered with eclectic effects to create a truly immersive, theatrical experience. Anticipate a heavy dash of Southern hospitality with a side of fabulous costumery that will transport you to another land and leave you clamoring for more.
Ladies and gentlemen and every beautiful being born anyone in-between, all aboard!
Written and performed by Dandy Darkly.
Directed by Ian Bjorklund.
