Queensday ("Koninginnedag" in Dutch) in Amsterdam is one of the highlights of the gay festival season as the Dutch celebrate our Queens birthday. Traditionally Queensday is held on 30 April.

On Queensnight ("Koninginnenacht") the first celebrations start on the streets, with street festivals (Reguliersdwarsstraat) and performances throughout the city of Amsterdam. The gay bars are usually very busy.
Queensday itself is a massive celebration, with hundred thousands of people floating the canals and walking from street to street to visit the outside flee markets and street parties.
At the Museumplein, you will find a huge open air concert by one of the biggest radio stations (Radio 538). Just check it out for a while, to see famous (inter)national stars performing live. This concert attracts mostly a straight crowd, but it is worth a quick check.
Around the three main gay areas in Amsterdam, huge gay crowds celebrate for all day and all night long. Best gay street parties are in the Reguliersdwarsstraat, at the Amstel (Dutch) and at the Homomonument (Westermarkt).
At night you have several choices to have a blast at one of the parties: Bear Necessity at Odeon, SuperMartXe at Club Air or a Royal edition of the underwear party (Z)onderbroek at Club Church.
To top off your Royal Amsterdam weekend, Sunday brings Rapido at Paradiso, the most famous circuit party in town! Boys from all over Europe dance their pants off at Paradiso during the Sunday afternoon and evening. Later that night, you can - if you still can stand on your feet - to Rapido After at the Westerunie....
